BDLC is working on accreditation by NAEYC, a national child care organization. BDLC's first NAEYC accreditation occurred in 1989 with reaccreditation occurring every five years thereafter. Accreditation offers a system of identifying high quality programs that meet criteria set by leading childhood educators. More information about NAEYC and its' accreditation process can be found at www.naeyc.org. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age 8. NAEYC is committed to becoming an increasingly high performing and inclusive organization. Founded in 1926, NAEYC is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children with nearly 100,000 members, a national network of over 300 local, state, and regional Affiliates, and a growing global alliance of like-minded organizations. Membership is open to all individuals who share a desire to serve and act on behalf of the needs and rights of all young children. Center accreditation is a very rigorous process and something that only some centers can meet. BDLC is also licensed by the State of Indiana. The state of Indiana has implemented a new state-wide quality system for early childhood centers, Paths to Quality. It is a four-star system, with four-stars signifying the top centers that have attained national accreditation. BDLC has begun the process and has chosen to go through all 4 levels! Please encourage our teachers in opting to participate in this program.
