Infant/Walker Program

BDLC offers a high quality program for infants ages 6 weeks through the early walking stages. Our caregiver/infant ratio is at a minimum 1 adult to 4 children with it frequently being better.  BDLC practices continuity of care which ensures that each child remains with his or her cohort group as they age.  From Lamb 2 up when children move to the next room they are accompanied by one of their teachers.   All diapers, formula and food are provided and included in the cost of this program.

Toddler Program

BDLC offers a developmentally appropriate program for toddlers in our programs. Our caregiver/student ratio is at a minimum 1/5 and often better from the time toddlers are walking until they reach the age of 2 1/2 years old.  At 2 1/2 to 3years old the care giver/ student ratio is at a minimum 1/7.  Our continuity of care model ensures that each child remains with his or her similar aged cohort group accompanied by one of his or her teachers as the child moves to their next room.

Pre-school Program

BDLC offers a high quality Pre-school program for children 3-5 years old.  Our caregiver/student ratio is at a minimum 1/10.

Kindergarten Program

BDLC offers a highly enriched full-day kindergarten. This program is staffed by a seasoned teacher with an M.A in Primary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood. Dana Cook has a creative approach to teaching and the caring environment she cultivates, helps children to grow more confident and compassionate.

Greatest Things about BDLC's Kindergarten Program

  • The kindergarten room has a maximum of 12 students. This small class size is conducive to individualized instruction.
  • The curriculum includes all the Indiana Educational Standards for Kindergarten as well as a number of other enrichment activities.
  • Elementary teachers have provided accolades that BDLC graduates are well prepared for first grade.
  • BDLC is open 7:30 am to 6 pm. The kindergarten room opens at 8:00 so only children arriving before 8:00 receive care in another room. Otherwise, the students remain as a group from 8:00 to 6:00. The one transition is when the assistant teacher comes at 2:30, fifteen minutes before Dana leaves. This consistency helps the children feel secure and unrushed; it also is conducive to deeper relationships with each other and the two teachers.
